Tienes un par de bonitas boinas de paracaidista allí, HHD, pero la boina con el número de contrato A/78 habría sido de mediados de los 60 hasta 1979. You have a couple of nice paratrooper berets there HHD, but the issue beret with the A/78 contract number would have been mid 60's through to 1979. So the capbadge you have on it at the moment is incorrect as it has a Kings crown so would have been used prior to the Queens coronation in 1953. You can see where the correct capbadge was fitted, a slit can be seen above the one you have fitted at the moment. The correct silver one with a rear slider made by J R Gaunt of Birmingham or London would be the correct one.

Mis amigos no tienen un sello excedente, pero es 100% genuino. Lo compró en julio de 1982 en las Malvinas y el sello es desconocido en los EE. UU., DLA100-76-F-U073.
Casualmente, el sello de mi portada ERDL también se usó en las portadas de Mitchell.

I have been looking at the contract numbers on our covers and a friend of mine also has one he bought back himself in 1982.
They are all made by MPLS. SOC. F/T BLIND INC.
mine is a little known contract number DSA100-76-F-U363
Yours is one of the 1st DLA contract numbers DLA100-78-F-U048
My friends is not surplus stamped but it is 100% genuine, he bought it back in July 1982 from the Falklands and the stamp is a previously unknown one in the US , DLA100- 76-F-U073.
Coincidently the stamp on my ERDL cover was also used on Mitchell covers.

Como he llegado a creer con esta obsesión por coleccionar elementos del conflicto, el hecho de que muchos de los expertos no lo hayan visto no significa que no sea real y genuino, sólo hay que desconectarse y encontrar la evidencia que lo demuestre.

Excellent HHD, remember I showed one and was ridiculed for it's existence, maybe a theme with some of my posts! I feel vindicated by your post. As I have come to believe with this obsession of collecting items from the conflict, just because many of the experts have not seen it, doesn't mean it is not real and genuine, just have to plug away and find the evidence to prove it.

Hola Bob y amigos, un conjunto muy curioso, el casco de arriba tiene marcas laterales. donde falta la pintura, de haber estado apilado. El morral medico es de los años 30-40; la insignia celeste y blanca, parece de fantasia, en 30 años de coleccionar no vi nunca nada asi ni siquiera en fotos, por ultimo, la valija no tiene espacio para guardar ni la mitad de todo el conjunto, en sintesis, como dicen alla: compra la pieza, no la historia.

Hello Bob and friends, a very curious set, the helmet above has side marks. where the paint is missing, from having been stacked. The medical backpack is from the 30-40s; the light blue and white insignia, it looks like a fantasy, in 30 years of collecting I have never seen anything like this, not even in photos, finally, the suitcase does not have space to store even half of the entire set, in short, as they say there: buy the piece, not the story.

Una cubierta ERDL de edición estadounidense de 1976 muy bien usada con un sello excedente. No estoy seguro de lo que dice en el exterior de la portada, tal vez RSO o RIO.

Gracias, sé que la insignia reglamentaria era una transferencia a base de agua, pero la cantidad de estos cascos que han aparecido en el Reino Unido a lo largo de los años me hace sospechar que aún no se han autenticado. No aceptaré que sean falsos, ¿por qué posible razón alguien intentaría hacer pasar algo tan alejado de las regulaciones que no puedo comprender? La falta de fotografías (aún) y ninguna en Argentina no significa que no sean cascos conflictivos.
El casco con el nombre de Alonso fue uno de los primeros que encontré, pero no es el que me dijeron que era de Goose Green. Todos tienen una historia que contar y haber encontrado 6 yo mismo y conocer otros en colecciones del Reino Unido solo fortalece mi determinación de descubrir la verdad.

Thank you, I know that the regulation insignia was a water based transfer, but the number of these helmets that have appeared in UK over the years makes me suspect that they are yet to be authenticated. I will not accept that they are faked, for what possible reason would anyone try to pass off something so far from the regulations I cannot fathom. A lack of pictures (yet) and none in Argentina does not mean that they are not conflict helmets.
The helmet with Alonso's name on was one of the 1st ones I had found, but it is not the one that I have been told was from Goose Green. They all have a story to tell and to have found 6 myself and know of others in UK collections only strengthens my resolve to uncover the truth

La última incorporación a mi colección, otro casco misterioso de la FAA. El proyectil es un McChord de la Segunda Guerra Mundial con un revestimiento P66 reacondicionado de la época de Vietnam. El revestimiento interior ha sido pintado con spray verde en el interior, hay evidencia de pintura en los accesorios metálicos. La muñequera de cuero verde es original de color verde. Hay varias inscripciones en el interior del proyectil y parece que pudo haber sido un proyectil ex ARA entregado a la FAA.
¡Estoy decidido a identificar el origen de las insignias pintadas!

The latest addition to my collection, yet another mystery FAA helmet. The shell is a WW2 McChord with a refurbished Vietnam era P66 liner. The liner has been sprayed green inside, there is evidence of the paint on the metal fittings. The green leather sweatband is an original green one. There are various inscriptions on the inside of the shell and it looks like it may have been an ex ARA shell handed over to the FAA.
I am determined to identify the origin of the painted insignia!

Efectivamente hubo un conscripto del CC62 llamado Gustavo Alberto Sieli. Un Schlueter de finales de la guerra de 1945 con fardos giratorios y forro original estadounidense que ha sido reacondicionado en los talleres de IMARA con barbijos remachados y una clásica correa interna fija en la nuca. El transatlántico ha pasado por varias encarnaciones, es bonito y tiene un buen precio de 240 euros. Cómpralo.

There was indeed a conscript from CC62 named Gustavo Alberto Sieli. A late war 1945 Schlueter with swivel bales and original US liner that has been refurbished in the IMARA workshops with riveted chinstraps and classic internal fixed nape strap. The liner has been through several incarnations, nice and a good price at 240 Euros. Buy it.

Insignia usada por 2 marines. Estos son prisioneros de guerra en las Islas Ascensión, no puedo distinguir la insignia con suficiente claridad pero creo que son la versión esmaltada. Interesante combinación de tocados, gorra marina de camuflaje, gorra marina con visera verde, varias gorras para clima frío y no puedo distinguir la insignia de la gorra en el frente, las apariencias varían mucho como APCA.

Insignia being worn by 2 marines. These are prisoners of war in Ascension Islands, I cannot make out the insignia with enough clarity but I think they are the enamel version. Interesting mix of headgear, camouflage marina cap, green peaked marina cap, various cold weather caps and I cannot make out the capbadge at the front, looks vary much like APCA

Llegó otro casco de la FAA, completo con el número estampado en el borde que he encontrado en numerosos proyectiles Ingersol estadounidenses restaurados por la FAA. Tiene que haber una explicación en alguna parte. Este fue recogido de un sitio gemelo AA cerca de la pista de aterrizaje de Goose Green por un ingeniero real durante las operaciones de limpieza posteriores a julio de 1982. ¡Tengo una carta de procedencia!

Another FAA helmet arrived, complete with rim stamped number which I have found on numerous FAA refurbished US Ingersol shells. There has to be an explanation somewhere. This one was collected from a twin AA site near Goose Green airstrip by a Royal Engineer during clearup operations post July 1982. I have a letter of provenance!

Una carcasa de Ingersol estadounidense restaurada de color verde suave con un revestimiento reacondicionado de Firestone de EE. UU. El ajuste restante del barbijo es inusual, al igual que el número estampado en el borde interior, en este caso 1125. ¿Alguien sabe si la FAA marcó todos sus cascos M1 originales o si se trataba de una práctica de brigada o unidad? Tengo otros 3 con números estampados en el borde y tengo otro en camino. Todos los Ingersols estadounidenses restaurados de color verde suave.

A smooth green refurbished US Ingersol shell with a US Firestone refurbished liner. The remaining chinstrap fitting is unusual as is the stamped number on the inner rim, in this instance 1125. Does anyone know if the FAA marked all their original M1 helmets or was this a Brigade or unit practice. I have 3 others with rim stamped numbers and have another on the way. All smooth green refurbished US Ingersols.
