Hola,

I recently acquired this helmet which I strongly believe is a Fuerza Aerea Argentina used Falklands conflict one. It has a piece of pinkish material which has been brush painted with 3 colours, black, dark green and a garish bright green. I have compared it to a picture taken during the conflict and the cover is the same pattern and light pink material. It has the name of Suboficial Principal VILATTA on the sweatband but this has been crossed out and the common name SOSA is on the suspension straps. Definately an F.A.A. helmet

Saludos, Bob

Interesting piece Bob, the pink inner part may be due to fading?

I have experience of British army shooting range flags and the red fades very quickly to a pinkish colour. There were range flags at the shooting range at Moody Brook barracks. The picture below is a good representation of the colour of the material on the helmet

Hello Bob, Then the fabric could have been any color (red for example) and they painted it in different colors to camouflage, can Bob be like that? And I tell you, I have a green trousers that faded to light blue.

Hello Bob164 !! What a magnificent piece you share with us! I would not dare to say that it is common, I think that all the FAA material was not abundant due to the amount of ground troops that were on the islands compared to EA for example. I congratulate you and thank you for showing it. Very interesting.

Hola Bob164!!
Abrazo. LMV
