Recuerdo haber discutido el casco de Barrios con Mati hace unos años y mientras tanto, encontré una pieza similar que todavía estoy tratando de determinar el origen. Pero tiene algunas similitudes con el casco que se muestra.

I remember discussing the Barrios helmet with Mati a few years back and in the meantime, found a similar piece that I am still trying to determine the origin. But it does have some similarities with the helmet shown

Hola, esta foto arroja muchas cosas fascinantes. La funda de pistola verde de origen holandés y culata plegable FN FAL que usaba el IMARA, pero si mi vista no me engaña, hay algunas de las fundas de casco mostradas anteriormente por Daniel del tipo que se usó en los años 70 durante la disputa del Canal Beagle. El oficial de IMARA más cercano tiene una cubierta de casco con ranuras de camuflaje y está hecho del raro patrón de 'ramita' generalmente asociado con los últimos utilizados por la F.A.A. y E. A. comandos hechos con uniformes reutilizados.

Hello, this picture throws up many fascinating things. The green pistol holster of Dutch origin and folding stock FN FAL used by the IMARA, but if my eyes do not decieve me, there are some of the helmet covers shown previously by Daniel of the type used in the 70's during the Beagle Channel dispute. The nearest IMARA officer has a helmet cover with camouflage slits and is made of the rare 'twig' pattern usually associated with the later ones used by the F.A.A. and E.A. commandos made from re-used uniforms.

I recently purchased this small Prefecture Naval Argentina flag from eBay UK and I am asking if it is 1982 vintage.

Finalmente logré encontrar los dos revestimientos DIAWARD, plástico y fibra de vidrio. Estos son los únicos forros que fabricaron y no he visto ninguno en los cascos DIAWARD devueltos al UK después del conflicto.

I finally managed to find both of the DIAWARD liners, plastic and fibreglass. These are the only liners they made and I have not seen any in the DIAWARD helmets returned to UK after the conflict

Acabo de comprar una versión de fibra de vidrio del revestimiento DIAWARD para probar y ver si se parece a los revestimientos de fibra de vidrio que tengo del conflicto. Lo que es muy similar al revestimiento de fibra de vidrio verde que se muestra en este hilo son los grandes remaches planos y la coloración. La construcción de fibra de vidrio es casi idéntica. Tal vez los cascos DIAWARD se compraron con revestimientos de fibra de vidrio verdes con las correas más pobres colocadas ya que el sistema de suspensión DIAWARD en el que compré es idéntico al revestimiento de plástico DIAWARD que mostré en el hilo respectivo.

I have just purchased a fibreglass version of the DIAWARD liner to try and see if it resembles the fibreglass liners I have from the conflict. What is very similar to the green fibreglass liner shown in this thread is the large flat rivets and colouration. The fibreglass construction is almost identical. Maybe the DIAWARD helmets were purchased with green fibreglass liners with the poorer webbing fited as the DIAWARD suspension system in the one I have purchased is identical to the plastic DIAWARD liner I showed on the respective thread.

La F.A.A. poncho fue comprado por un militar que lo recogió y lo usó él mismo en el 82. Lo vendió junto con muchos otros artículos que había vuelto a comprar. El poncho IMARA me lo regalaron cuando compré un casco de un Royal Marine que había estado en Georgia del Sur. No parece que se haya usado nunca.

The F.A.A. poncho was bought back by a serviceman who picked it up and used it himself in 82. He sold it along with a lot of other items he'd bought back. The IMARA poncho was given to me when I bought a helmet of a Royal Marine who'd been on South Georgia. It doesn't look like it has ever been used.

Después de volver a leer la publicación de HHD, me acabo de dar cuenta de que uno de los ponchos que tengo es una versión IMARA igual a la publicada. El mío está hecho con 2 secciones de material con una costura en un extremo. Lo he imaginado junto a mi F.A.A. poncho para mostrar la diferencia de color.

Having re-read HHD's post, I have just realised that one of the ponchos I have is an IMARA version the same as the one posted. Mine has been made with 2 sections of material with a seam across one end. I have pictured it next to my F.A.A. poncho to show the colour difference.

Llegó hoy y tiene una característica inusual, que no se ve en los ponchos del ejército. Tiene 2 botones de plástico en el interior y se mantiene en su lugar con una pequeña arandela de plástico en el exterior. El sello es F.A.A. O/C 228 A3

Arrived today and has some unusual feature, not seen on Army ponchos. It has 2 plastic buttons on the inside and held in place with a small plastic washer on the outside. The stamp is F.A.A. O/C 228

Hoy os enseño un forro de casco M1 de plástico DIAWARD. A mí me parece muy mal hecho, tiene muchas fallas que lo hacen muy vulnerable a los daños y como no los he visto a la venta en ningún lado, incluida Argentina, me arriesgaría a suponer que no se compraron mucho. Si la versión de fibra tuviera un diseño diferente por dentro, me sorprendería mucho. Mi intuición es que el ARA solo compró los caparazones durante el período en que EE. UU. no proporcionaría ayuda militar a Argentina para compensar el déficit de cascos.

Today I show you a DIAWARD plastic M1 helmet liner. To me it seems very poorly made, has lots of flaws that make it very vulnerable to damage and as I have not seen them for sale anywhere, including Argentina I would hazard a guess that they were not widely purchased. If the fibre version was of a different design inside, I would be very surprised. My gut feeling is that only the shells were purchased by the ARA during the period when the US would not supply military aid to Argentina to make up for the shortfall in helmet shells. I hope the pictures are helpful and can confirm my theory.

Muy interesante JP, es similar al camuflaje checoslovaco M95, tiene los mismos colores de fondo pero diferentes formas de negro. Tal vez un patrón de prueba, pero ¿de qué país? Conocer la línea de tiempo para desarrollar patrones 87 hasta la introducción de M95 no es una escala de tiempo irrazonable para que sea un patrón CZ.

Very interesting JP, it is similar to the Czechoslovakian M95 camouflage, it has the same background colours but different black shapes. Maybe a trial pattern, but from which country? Knowing the time line for developing patterns 87 through to the introduction of M95 is not an unreasonable timescale for it to be CZ pattern

Son excelentes HHD, gracias por mostrarlos. Tengo 2 ejemplos diferentes, uno idéntico al original pero con una correa de cuero reemplazada. El otro es más grande y tiene una tapa con doble bisagra, pero la principal diferencia es que tiene herrajes de latón, no de acero. El más grande estaba siendo utilizado como caja de herramientas por un artesano local en Stanley en 1984 y fue tomado de una de las muchas pilas de equipo desechado. Sospecho que el mango puede haber sido reemplazado por él.

Es muy posible que haya sido uno británico antiguo que quedó en las islas de la Primera/Segunda Guerra Mundial, pero no tengo evidencia de su historia, aparte de que se encontró con armas y municiones argentinas descartadas.

They are excellent HHD, thank you for showing them. I have 2 different examples, one identical to your original but with a replaced leather strap. The other is larger and has a double hinged lid, but the main difference is that it has brass fittings not steel. The bigger one was being used as a tool box by a local craftsman in Stanley in 1984 and was taken from one of the many piles of discarded equipment. I suspect that the handle may have been replaced by him.

It may well have been an old British one left on the islands from WW1/WW2 but i have no eveidence of it's history other than it was found with discarded Argentine arms and ammo.
