Supongo que no hubo necesidad de sacar los cuchillos de sus fundas por ningún motivo. Tengo otro amigo que tiene uno que se recuperó sin funda y la hoja sufrió los elementos. Lo que he notado es que la punta de las cuchillas en las mismas que las mías se daña muy fácilmente.

I don't suppose there was any need to take the knives out of the sheaths for any reason. I have another friend who has one that was recovered without a sheath and the blade has suffered from the elements. What I have noticed is the tip of the blades on the ones the same as mine is very easily damaged

The green leather sheath is a replacement bought from Liberty Tree collectables in Canada and we know that they were made post 1982.

Hello, yet another model that was used in the conflict. It was being hidden in a Commandos boot and was personally taken by a British veteran. I have been in contact with him and he showed me this example after seeing mine

Finalmente encontré un cuchillo AB0200 en el UK. Casi perfecto, el cuchillo, como me dice Gus, es un ejemplo temprano, ya que tiene un número de serie, los modelos posteriores no tenían un número de serie. 00247, supuestamente tomado de un oficial Argentino en 1982.

I finally found an AB0200 knife in UK. Almost mint, the knife as Gus tells me is an early example as it is serial numbered, later models were not serial numbered. 00247, reputedly taken from an Argentine officer in 1982.

Llegó el casco y me sorprendió descubrir que es un DIAWARD repintado con pintura verde ARA. La cubierta ha estado puesta durante algún tiempo ya que ha dejado una marca de desgaste en la corona. El forro tiene la marca US 24 y la banda para el sudor que pensé que era vinilo es en realidad cuero con muchas letras, aunque nada comprensible.

The helmet arrived and I was surprised to find that it is a DIAWARD repainted in ARA green paint. The cover has been on for some time as it has left a wear mark across the crown. The liner is marked US 24 and the sweatband that I thought was vinyl is actually leather with lots of writing, none of it understandable though.

Hello, I would like some help with a few questions, is the sweatband on this helmet of Argentine origin and are the unusual straps on the liner something that anyone has seen before. I vaguely remember seeing something similar but cannot recall where!

Hoy he estado revisando los cascos daneses Diaward, tanto del ejercito como de defensa civil. Los ejemplos que tengo son ambos contratos daneses de Diaward entregados en los años 60. Lo que he encontrado es que la fabricación es superior a todos los ejemplares de Diawards argentinos usados que tengo. La principal diferencia es la llanta, que en las versiones danesas se ajusta mejor, mientras que en las argentinas todas tuvieron reparaciones de llanta con puntos de soldadura adicionales. El acabado de las carcasas es el mismo, pero nuevamente otra diferencia son las pacas giratorias. En todos los daneses que he mirado son de acero, mientras que los argentinos son de latón. En conclusión, descartaría que los proyectiles Diaward utilizados por Argentina provengan de excedentes de stock daneses.

I have today been looking over Danish Diaward helmets, both Army issue and Civil defence. The examples I have are both Danish Diaward contract delivered in the 60's. What I have found is that the manufacture is superior to all the examples of Argentine used Diawards I have. The main difference is the rim which on Danish versions is of a better fit, whereas the Argentine ones have all had rim repairs with additional spot welds. The finish on the shells is the same, but again another difference is the swivel bales. On all the Danish ones I have looked at they are steel, whereas the Argentine ones are brass. In conclusion, I would rule out that the Diaward shells used by Argentina came from surplus Danish stocks.

La óptica no lleva el telémetro interno que se encuentra en los prismáticos militares Zeiss Jena. Kershaws reclutó a 3 miembros del personal de la fábrica de Carl Zeiss en Londres, es por eso que los binoculares son casi idénticos en el exterior y los primeros juegos tenían prismas hechos por Barr y Stroud. Los modelos posteriores tenían prismas y lentes fabricados por los mismos Kershaws.
Se encontró un juego con un estuche de cuero de emisión militar de US.

Hello, I present a couple of pairs of my Kershaw and Sons 'optal' binoculars recovered from the Falklands in 82. The optics do not have the internal range finder found in the Zeiss Jena military binoculars. Kershaws recruited 3 staff members from the Carl Zeiss London factory, that is why the binoculars are almost identical externally and the early sets had prisms made by Barr and Stroud. Later models had prisms and lenses made by Kershaws themselves.
One set was found with a US military issue leather case.

They are very unusual and rare as Zeiss London Telex used by the British military but to then be sent to Argentina and remarked with the original serial number is rarer still.

Muy difícil de ver es CARL ZEISS, LONDRES y TELEX 313174, 6X
Fabricado en Londres entre 1912, era un modelo civil y es el aumento más pequeño de la gama Zeiss, se produjeron muy pocos modelos militares y se designa como D.F.6.
Estos no son el contrato militar sino la versión civil y deben haber sido comprados para el servicio militar, de ahí la flecha de artillería de propiedad del gobierno.
Espero que los encuentres interesantes.

Hello, I have today recieved some binoculars that are ex British Army issue that were re-used by Argentina. Marked J.L. EDWARDS, ING. LA. ESPERANZA C.N.A. , JUJUY , ARGENTINA , No 313174
Very difficult to see is CARL ZEISS , LONDON and TELEX 313174 , 6X
Made in London between in 1912, it was a civilian model and is the smallest magnification in the Zeiss range, very few military models were produced and it is designated as the D.F.6.
These are not the military contract but civilian version and must have been bought into military service, hence the government property ordnance arrow.
