Hello Alvaro, I don't know it's where it came from, i was sorting through my bayonets and happened to notice that one of the frogs looked different and it was only then that i noticed the BERETTA press studs. I bought the bayonet and frog as a lot in auction and it came with a C Type FAL bayonet and a US M1/M3 type bayonet. Since I noticed it I have been unable to find any information about it....

The IMARA nets were 2cm squares, the army 2.5cm and there is some evidence that the FAA used some 5cm square nets.

I had an interesting conversation with a member of 2 Parachute Regiment who used some captured AN/PVS-2 rifle scopes after the conflict whilst doing live firing in the UK. He said that they were all found without batteries and back in the UK, batteries had to be sourced from the US.

That is maybe why there are no pictures of them in use, no batteries so they would not have worked

After much searching I have finally found a set of AN/PVS-5 night vision googles. They are in mint condition, never used and were taken from a ISO container in June 1982 by a member of 2 Para. I recently bought them at auction in the UK along with a lot of 2 Para related items from the conflict.

What is very unusual is that both the box and the goggles have no contract number. The black bodied ones pictured with Companie de Enginerios 10 were AN/PVS-5's not the later PVS-5(A) that this set is. The Black sets were made by Litton and supplied from Israel and maybe the set I have were purchased later and in order to avoid the embargo on the US supplying NVG's to foreign powers there was no contract number added. This helps with accountability later if captured whilst being used against a US/NATO ally. Did the remaining sets in Argentina have contract numbers on the serial plate and were they PVS-5's or PVS-5(A)'s

They also seem to have been issued in 82 without the separate press stud head harness, which meant that they has to be held with both hands when being used, rather than 'hands free'

Finally I received some camouflage items from the United states and 2 items are the unusual trousers and jacket in Army ERDL camouflage. The jacket is a mix of the shirt and jacket designs with flat pockets and is made with the thinner shirt material. The trousers are the same material with flat external pockets and a small medical dressing pocket at the front left in the same way that WW2 German trousers did. Both items were made by JESSE.M.RUIZ.MORENO and they are either private purchase items or a trial set. What are you opinions

Mirando las imágenes de la antorcha en ángulo recto que se lleva en la mochila, diría que de hecho es una antorcha británica RA debido a la coloración, ya que todos los Fultons que he visto del período de Vietnam son de color marrón chocolate. El ejemplo de la imagen es verde, el mismo verde que los porta granadas de rifle. Es probable que haya sido entregado a los marines acuartelados en Moody Brook. Es la antorcha RA básica con el paquete de filtro adicional instalado.

Hello HHD,

Looking at the pictures of the right angled torch being carried on the rucksack, I would say that it is in fact a British Torch RA due to the colouration as all of the Fultons I have seen from the Vietnam period are a chocolate brown. The example in the picture is green, the same green as the rifle grenade holders. It is likely to have been issued to the marines barracked at Moody Brook. It is the basic RA torch with the additional filter pack fitted.
