Hello everyone, I have been browsing this section of the forum for the first time in a long time and I have a question about how rank insignia was attached to the Dubon. From photos I've seen, it looks like a button may have been sewn on the left chest to allow insignia to be attached. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have a clear photo? Were there multiple methods?

Hola a todos, he estado navegando por esta sección del foro por primera vez en mucho tiempo y tengo una pregunta sobre cómo adjuntar insignias de rango en el Dubon. Por las fotos que he visto, parece que se pudo haber cosido un botón en el pecho izquierdo para permitir que se adhirieran las insignias. ¿Alguien puede confirmar esto? ¿Alguien tiene una foto clara? ¿Hubo múltiples métodos?

Yes, quite so, the 'or' was a typo there!

Alvaro - the Dubon is an Israeli Defence Force example, not Isrex, unfortunately. The main difference is that it lacks the pocket on the left arm. Someday I'll find an Isrex or Argentinian example!

Hello everyone, I have recently had my collection of Argentine Army equipment out and decided to set up to mannequin displays. The parka is still Israeli, I will find a correct example one day! I am still on the lookout for some Tempex ammunition pouches but otherwise quite pleased with these. I would like to say a big thank you again to everyone here for all the information on the forum, without which I would not have been able to collect this equipment. Feedback welcome.

Todavía estoy buscando algunas bolsas de municiones Tempex, pero por lo demás estoy bastante satisfecho con estas. Thank you both very much for the kind words, it's thanks to the help of the forum I've learned enough to put this together. I've now managed to find a water bottle cover so just need a proper Argentine parka now!

Hello everyone,

I have not posted on here for a while but wanted to add this photo of the basic infantry kit I have put together. Unfortunately I put the belt on the wrong way round and only noticed a while later.

I have an aluminium canteen on the way and I'm hoping to find a cover for it to complete the basic set.

The Dubon is an IDF example from 1982. Ideally I would like to replace this with an ISREX or Argetine made example. I know it is unlikely but does anyone have one they would be willing to sell?

I am also slowly putting together Tempex equipment and I am looking for a pair of FAL ammunition pouches. Again, if anyone has any spare please do let me know.

No he publicado aquí por un tiempo, pero quería agregar esta foto del kit básico de infantería que armé. Desafortunadamente, me puse el cinturón al revés y solo me di cuenta un rato después.

Tengo una cantimplora de aluminio en camino y espero encontrarle una funda para completar el set básico.

El Dubon es un ejemplo de IDF de 1982, No tiene el bolsillo en el brazo izquierdo. Idealmente, me gustaría reemplazarlo con un ISREX o un ejemplo hecho en Argentina. Sé que es poco probable, pero ¿alguien tiene uno que estaría dispuesto a vender?

También estoy armando poco a poco el equipo Tempex y estoy buscando un par de bolsas de municiones FAL. Una vez más, si alguien tiene alguno de repuesto, por favor hágamelo saber.

Posting in an old thread I know, just to say thank you for all the information provided here and the excellent photographs, this is extremely useful in understanding the features which identity and Israeli made Argentine issue parka as opposed to IDF issue. I'm hoping to find one of these, or possibly even an Argentine made example one day and these forum posts have been very useful in informing my search.

Thanks Gus! The Jaguar IV from Karrimor seems to have been quite common with the Scots Guards, other versions of this line and rucksacks from other manufacturers were also used. These were private purchase. Some units made mass purchases from civilian suppliers, in some instances men bought them individually. I understand the London surplus and outdoor supplier Silvermans saw most of its stock of rucksacks bought up at the time.
