Hello, yet another model that was used in the conflict. It was being hidden in a Commandos boot and was personally taken by a British veteran. I have been in contact with him and he showed me this example after seeing mine

I don't suppose there was any need to take the knives out of the sheaths for any reason. I have another friend who has one that was recovered without a sheath and the blade has suffered from the elements. What I have noticed is the tip of the blades on the ones the same as mine is very easily damaged

The green leather sheath is a replacement bought from Liberty Tree collectables in Canada and we know that they were made post 1982.

The one I have shown belonging to Mike, the veteran who took it off a Commando in 82 has an unusual blade shape

Saludos, Bob

cuchillo-FM

A curious detail of the photo: This sheath is an ERIZO, the one used by the paratrooper knife with bowie type blade of those manufactured between 1974 and 1983, like mine which is on the site http://bacotacticoscuchillos.blogspot.com/...tela-erizo.html
Another detail of the photo is that the sheath has a USM1910 type hook that is partially covered or faded, it is obvious that the image is photoshopped, either for aesthetic reasons or because the knife was without sheath and they added the sheath of another knife.

Bob,

As far as we know there are 3 models of blades on the FM AB-0200 knife, all already in production for 1981 (not considering the prototypes or "experimental" ones):
The top one would be the 1st model, the only one with serial number and straight backcut.
The one in the middle would be the 2nd model, with a semicircular backcut but keeping the pointed blade tip.
The bottom one would be the 3rd model, with semicircular backcut but with a considerably wider blade tip, which remained in production until at least 1989.

Slds/Rgds, Gus
